Getting to Valencia
Arriving by plane Valencia is easily reached by direct flights from many main cities both in Spain and from the most major European cities, and from all over the world via Madrid or Barcelona (plane – train connection might be also an interesting option). How to arrive from the airport:
The journey to the Valencia Conference Centre takes about 25 minutes and costs around 18-22 €. Taxi journeys that start at the airport are always more expensive because they have a minimum fare of 12 € that includes an extra charge of 5.40 €. Most taxis do not allow credit card payments, so be sure to have some exchanged money when arriving.
In total, the Valencia underground system has 9 different lines; you can distinguish them more easily by its colours, but be sure to be going on the correct direction. These nine lines cover the city centre and it surrounds neighborhoods and towns, being the map divided into 4 zones (A, B, C and D). Prices vary on these zones. There are two underground lines that link the airport, the city centre and the port : Line 3 Rafelbunyol / Aeroport and Line 5 Marítim Serrería / Aeroport. Walk north for 5-10 minutes (Meliá Valencia Hotel, Sorolla Palace Hotel, and Conference Centre are about 400 metres). Fare: 1.50 € (single ticket, zone A, cardboard price not included. It costs 1 €. It is reusable. You can either recharge it with the same type of ticket or charge it with a different type once the prior ticket charge has been used). More info: Metrovalencia website.
There are very comfortable trains from the main Spanish cities(http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/index.html).
